From Brotherhood to Bionenergy: Brent’s Story
When Brent Jarrett, LF Bioenergy’s Plant Operator at LF1, first learned about the company, he was still balancing school and work. What caught Brent’s attention was “the bigger picture—the connection between environmental stewardship, community impact, and the opportunity to be part of something meaningful,” he said.
Seeing how waste can become a valuable resource—and how every part of the process connects—made the work especially compelling.
For Brent, LF represented the chance to be part of something greater than himself. He saw the value in taking what might otherwise be discarded and turning it into something people need every day: sustainable energy. That transformation—converting organic waste into usable energy—is one of the most rewarding parts of the job for him.
Brent’s path to LF is shaped by both military service and technical expertise. He began his career in Marine Corps aviation, completing three deployments in the Middle East before shifting his focus to family and the next chapter of his career.
He studied at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, pursuing mechanical engineering and business, and eventually returned home to New York to continue building his future.
That transition felt natural because many of the skills Brent developed earlier in life apply directly to his work at LF. His background in aviation and mechanics gave him experience with fluid dynamics, hydraulics, pumps, mixing systems, and air pressure—technical knowledge that translated naturally into the renewable natural gas industry.
He recognized early on that his skill set was a strong fit for the work LF is doing.
Brent also carries forward the leadership values he learned in the Marine Corps: loyalty, friendship, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to the people beside him.
“In the military, trust and brotherhood are everything—your life is often in someone else’s hands, and theirs is in yours,” said Brent.
Those lessons continue to shape how he works today: looking out for his teammates, giving his best every day, and staying committed to the shared mission.
His story is a powerful reminder that service, sacrifice, and teamwork leave a lasting mark long after the uniform comes off. For Brent, the mission may have changed, but the mindset has not. Brotherhood isn’t just something he learned in the Marine Corps—it’s a value he carries with him every day.
